Modern Victorian in Lockport, IL
BEFORE Coloration
While an interesting color scheme, this house lacked a sense of drama. The use of only one
color limited the showcasing of architectectural details.
AFTER
Coloration
The application of late 19th century colors on this Modern Victorian house
allows the many architectural features to be enjoyed by everyone. The stripe on the garage
gable provides a balance to the front façade. The contrast between the body and trim
colors helps frame the building and provide scale.
The Front Two-Story Bay Section
The idea here was to highlight this feature and make it a major focal point. The
gable gingerbread is further decorated by a two-color scheme.
