Fitzemeyer residence, built in 1889

The Fitzemeyer family requested an "elegant and eye catching" paint scheme for this lovely Queen Anne house in Melrose, Massachusetts that doubles as a residence and an office. A period gray body is trimmed with green and an off-white to bring out all the special architectural highlights.

Detail of the entry porch. The arching is highlighted by dark red brackets.  This color combination was suggested in an 1890 paint catalogue in my research collection.
